APPLES CROWNED HOUSE MUSIC CHAMPIONS

Nick Woodford's meticulous preparation and strong leadership paved the way for a famous Orchard victory in the House Music Competition. The whole house, dressed smartly in their white shirt and House ties, sang Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode with real verve and vigour. Rob Jones, Ollie Barber and Tom Woodford's guitars provided the blues groove, with Tim Room (bass) and the ever cool Nick Ellis on drums keeping the beat steady. Tom Woodford 's amp failed as he played Biffy Clyro's Many of Horror, but our small song singers, professional to the last, kept the song flowing. Charle Marsden's opening solo, was winsome yet mesmeric, and Zahra Govani's rich beatuiful voice set the tone for the choir members, whose harmonies echoed beautifully round the sports hall. The performance was virtually flawless, and the judges clearly thought so too.
Our individual musicians had also contributed hugely to this win, by turning up and performing in the week before, scoring valuable points for the House.

A reprise of both songs can be heard again at our House Concert on the 28th March. THis is an event not to be missed and I hope many parents will be able to come and hear the apples warbling!

Roll on next year!!
