Andrew Galligan, anchor man supreme, (aka Big G!) led the Apples to victory in the traditional House Tug of War Competition. Held on the lawns below Skipwith on the final afternoon, the temperature was a warm 28c. Yet it waas gthe other Houses who felt the heat. They disposed of Everett and Burr before beating Welsh 2-0 in the final. Helping Big G were an eclectic team made up of Billy Holloway, Alex Humphries, Tom Morgan, Alistair Clapham, Max Hearnden, Ehren Elcock and Henry Le Roy, (both displaying sartorial elegance by wearing school uniform!), Ruaridh Scott (a future anchor man?), and Sam Neale (providing much needed grunt in his last ever house competition!).
Some say that Orchard's victory was due to some rowers in other houses who made the flimsy excuse they were in some kind of regatta down at Henley, but this should not eclipse the fact that these Apples showed huge team spirit.
